I arrived in Vietnam in February 1968.  I spent four months at the Blackhorse base camp in Xuan Loc with the 551st Light Maintenance Company attached to the 11th Cav. as a mechanic.  In June of 1968, I was reassigned
to the
567th Transportation Company where I originally ran the tool room and repaired fork lifts at the Maintenance building at Newport Terminal.  Later, I drove truck and transported equipment on a low boy trailer to
the
boneyard.  By the time I arrived at Camp Camelot, there weren't any of the orignal tents left in our company area.  We also made the trip every day to Newport on that Maintenance bus which we just received in
September 1968.

sure would like to run into him someday.  I don't remember the man on the right except he was our SGT.  Right two photos - The Pollock And Me Outside Hooch #3  - Having Some Fun With The Mamma Sans
