When I was with the 154th Transportation Company, during the day I worked in logistics, armor/supplies, making many runs to Cu Chi and Tay Ninh in the convoys. During the night, we worked on perimeter security
along the highway near the 65-foot guard/observation tower at Camp Camelot. Our security teams were picked from companies of the 71st Transportation Battalion, the 154th, 300th, 368th, 372nd, 551st, 567th, and the
402nd. The staff sergeants came from experienced infantry units such as the 101st Airborne. The E5's and below were picked from within the attached companies of the 71st.
